Re: Driving the "P" car

I've always wanted a 308GTS. Magnum PI thing. I've driven a few GTB carb'd
versions when I was hunting a few years. I missed a local one that was perfect
a few months ago. I was haggling price and someone else paid more than I
really wanted. I still need my speed fix which is why I was thinking of
getting a P car instead. They seem more capable at daily driving duties. Good
value for speed and driving pleasure to me. I'm not sure if I want to get a
355 but prices are coming way down and into my price range for a limited use
car. I'm going to go to a couple of local dealers this weekend and get a
"feel". The other car that I'm purchasing when it comes out of the body shop
for the current owner might satisfy my speed fix. Too many things going on
with spring arriving. House, cars, office, vacation trips, business trips - I
can't get a grip! This weekend might be my only chance for a few weeks to get
tire kicking done.

Yes, that was me in the fastest, drifting PT Cruiser on the way to the Skywalk
Bridge. You don't hit the speed governor unless you are going downhill... I
can't believe I got that car airborne several times. I used 3/4 of a tank of
gas in 50 miles! Best damn road I have ever been on including race tracks.
That's why every time I visit my mother, she makes me rent a car and not drive
hers. Control arm and summer tire replacements are an annual event for me on
my BMW. I'm adding two cars to the fleet this summer (one possibly an F-car)
and another one in the fall to reduce the mileage on that car. They just have
to be fun to drive in their own right too. The main BMW I use is a good
all-around car but I'm going to go back and get specific duty cars again. I
finally have the time since my girlfriend and I won't compete in dance anymore.

Perhaps it's best to start with the P then go to the F....probably could
appreciate it more that way.

What F car are you looking at getting?

LOL.

Weren't you the one who took a rental car and went drifting or so with it on
a dirt trail somewhere in the southwest?? Like near the Grand Canyon or
something....

Someone on the list was guilty of this!
