Did you say Hwy 39? I knew that it dead-ends at PCH in Huntington Beach and
the ocean, but I didn't know it went that far north.

I've always been told that Imperial Blvd was the longest local road in So
Cal, stretching from LAX to at least Brea, but good old Hwy 39 might top it.

When I was working undercover vice with APD, our stretch of '39' was always
'Hooker Heaven.' We made regular sweeps, first picking up any hookers, (That's
were I came in) then inserting our own young female officers to be
propositioned by the johns. We even used my Tioga motorhome for a mobile
booking
station.

No thanks needed here. Yea, I know that it was a dirty job, but I was only
doing my small part to keep the streets of Anaheim safe of Mr & Mrs taxpaying
Citizen. <g>

I was just up at the Mt. High Ski resort last week, which is near
Wrightwood on the Angeles Crest. The road is closed and no longer goes
all the way through to La Canada.

An even better mountain road (much less traveled) in the same mountains
is the Glendora Ridge Rd/Glendora Mountain Rd. between Mt. Baldy Village
and Hwy 39 (San Gabriel Canyon Rd). It is in the foothills, so no snow
closures.
