Backup cars, test mules, and Last Years' cars would be pressed into service if they were 'legal' according to the new rules changes.....not that any one team would be foolish enough to put all their automotive eggs in one basket. If there were issues to fill the grid, I'm sure Bernie and Co. might have an emergency rules-change so that last years' cars could take the field in the event of a catastrophic loss of new cars.
