MJ, all good points...but you're missing one key one.

He's an athlete...the desire to win and compete can trump anything and
everything. That feeling is even more powerful when you've tasted victory as he
has.

Never say never!

Doubtful those players would assemble in Maranello ever again.....now that
Brawn has Richard Branson's checkbook at his disposal, it is possible they
could join his team but those contracts would have to be huge.  They created
quite a historic legacy with Ferrari - to turn their backs on that, and support
a different team for competing-against and defeating Ferrari would take
mountains of courage and cash.

I don't see it happening for Schumi - even though he took a lot of
Nationalistic 'heat' for being German early-on, he's an official citizen of
Maranello now and could take a cushy Admin position anywhere within SpA's race
department (as-if the guy doesn't deserve to retire now) - anytime they need
Big-PR for a new model, guess who's driving the new car for the Press around
Fiorano?  He's far-too ingrained into Ferrari and its culture to jump ship for
another team.

I'm betting Todt is just plain tired - he has his immense fortune, his mansion,
his Ferrari collection, his hot young wife......if I had all that, I'd be
building birdhouses in my backyard and telling the world to go screw.....but I
keep hearing that he has aspirations for a Leadership position in FIA, so
perhaps he is just positioning himself to look 'impartial' to any particular
team before his appointment to such a post.

Was just reading the AutoWeek of April 6 and it notes that Jean Todt has
resigned all of his positions at Ferrari and departed.

That seems strange to me, but with Brawn's recent successes, it made me
wonder if it would be possible to reassemble the dream team. Michael's
Ferrari contract ends this year, so reuniting Brawn, Todt and Schumacher
would be quite interesting, no?
