Well Not having the weight of say a Chevy LS9 engine.... 640hp/1.5 ton car = 426 hp/ton108920 hp/ 2300 ton engine = 47 hp/ton (and that does not include the boat!)
Big power = lower efficiency ? Hard to say since the application is so very different...
