Good idea
Keep the old hoses in the car just in case you blow one on the dark side of the moon
You will have one to get home

And its the small things that keep the car alive
I have never had a heat related failure and I have lived down south for years

I always pop the hood on my old 911 after a drive too, to vent heat. 30
years old, and the original alt still going strong!!

You mentioned a funky hose last time. I burst one last week in an old Benz,
so taking the Clyde approach, and just ordered up all new hoses for the
whole thing.

Happy motoring Clyde.

Guys just put around 100 miles or so on the 512TR in AFRICA HOT ATL TRAFFIC
just to see if anything would go BOOM after I did the major service

Nothing nadda zipp a/c worked great, no leaks or sqeaks!

Parked the car and left the hood up as I always do so it can vent

I took my digital thermometer out and put it buy the clutch housing to see
how hot it was

Max temp 199 degrees!

Wew and that's with the hood up after about 15 minutes
