The rear brakes on a 308 are NOT MECHANICAL they are huydraulic The parking brake is Mechanical Clude
DUH my friend.Ayep - ever since Lockheed in the late teens applied hydraulics' to brakes various systems abounded - but I think Ford was one of the last to convert to hydraulics in the late 30's or early 40's.

The 308 rears are mechanically similar and mounted upside down as compared to the 914. One difference is they have a spacer for the wider brake rotor. Thesimilarity is they are touchy to replace the pads. Just remember to UNSCREWthe clearance ratchet thingamajig (highly technical term) and DON'T pressthe old pads against the pistons to gain clearance. This action will corruptthe thingajig. After that - its pretty straight forward make sure you get final pad to rotor clearance with a feeler gauge. Onward DOUGI'm rebuilding my rear calipers as we speak. Found good techarticle at PelicanParts.com re: 914 rear caliper rebuild _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/clyderomero%40worldnet.att.net Sponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/ Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/dnt%40dock.net Sponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/
