I'll have to keep an eye out for the shirts next time I can go shopping... If I see some I'll pick them up. Probably won't find time until next Saturday in Shanghai...

To answer some questions:

They all drive on the right, just like Mericans... Though honestly they are helter-skelter everywhere with a very passive aggressive lane changing style. Lots of horn usage to let folks know you are there, signaling of lane changes is only after you are mid-way through the change. I would not hesitate to try driving here, its pretty straightforward and there is a courtesy here in the driving also though its really a mutual "I will not hit you". This place is nothing like India, much more modern and even seems a bit less crowded, though it probably is not, I have yet to see a single moped with a family of four or more on it. Imagine an entire country of bad drivers, kinda like Texas, but with more consistency and discipline. There was a Bentley at the hotel last night that was RHD and I have seen several RHD cars, all from Hong Kong I would guess, which I can see from the Window of my hotel room. Half the cabs here are Volkswagen Santana's (No US equivalent I think, maybe Passat?) or a Chinese clone of the Audi 100. And I mean clone... Wow. Lots of Kia's and Hyundais also.

As for customs? Would they really care? I would think they'd be upset if I were selling them or something stateside. Will have to keep an eye out for that I guess. I think they get upset if you bring in more than $1000 of stuff...

I got my son a little airsoft gun, that looks way too realistic... With that one, I may have some difficulties going through the airport and shipping it FedEx might make more sense :) No need to get body tackled by 20 Chinese security guys.

Oh and one last thing!

No one has made me take off my shoes for an airplane flight here.
BR,
Mike

Hey cLyDe: Say it ain't so, cLyDe. An owner of a Ferrari 512 TR actually trying to

I thought that only the Ferrari wanna-be's like me?who drive GT4s would stoop
so low. Wait til FOC hears about this.

Have you no shame, sir?

Next time that you're flying into NYC, you should hit Times Square. I've got a business
associate there named Guido, who has a suitcase full of genuine?Rolex Daytona watches
that you might want to re-sell to some of your more gulliable passengers. just tell him,
"Bubba sent me," and be sure to wear your uniform. He'll know who you are.

Just tell?the 'marks' in coach?that you bought them from Bernie Madoff when he
was trying to post bond. And cLyDe. you can forget the First Class. They'll
never believe you.

Always trying to help a fellow Tifosi, yer pal Shitbox Bubba

Mike,
One thing that I got in a market in Taiwan (should be virtually the same in
China) was a Ferrari Team shirt knock off. Correct in almost every detail
except for very cheaply made. It is an awesome shirt to wear to F1 races or
even to club events and I only gave $8 for it. I highly recommend getting
one.

I hate to do this to the Ferrari list again... I never read the threads, but on watches? I sorted out what I alreeady bought... What is a good watch? I am in China right now and it is astonishing how many knock-off watches they have. So I picked some up as fun gifts for friends etc... So far I have a Tag, a couple or Rolex's, a Breitling, and a Gucci watch for my wife... But there are a ton of other brands that look really nice but I have no idea if they are decent brands or not :). Not certain if I will go back out and get more or not but wow. They even have the sapphire scratch proof covers on them. Clearly not Gold materials, nor the quality movements inside either, though the Rorex's are perpetual movements. China is kinda fun and makes a real mockery of branding.

Lots of Ferrari junk here too, some watches, (also Porsche design watches galore), some lighters... (man it is entertaining though to talk them down to as low a price as they will go and then walk away, do the same at 4 other vendors and then pick the best price, we need to have haggling in the US for everything). Also got an excellent tea set, Tea in the US just sucks the hiney compared to the stuff over here. Wow. Recorded the proper procedure for making tea in China as the tea shop owner made us sit and have a tea drinking ceremony with him after I bought the tea sets. Good stuff.

The same Lamborghini's and 599GTB have been in front of the hotel for the past week or so, owners are friends with the hotel owner. And the 599GTB looks like your ugly date at the prom next to the LP640 and Gallardo, I can't fathom how Ferrari can sell these to anyone if they were viewed side by side, performance between them is probably ludicrous in both cases. Construction here is everywhere, tons of people, nice cars, everything is about 1/3rd the price of US version (cars are about 2.5X). We may have a major recession in the US, but you can't tell it over here. Also most popular American car manufacturer here? Buick!... WTF

If you travel to Shenzhen, The Intercontinental is the Hotel... At $140 a night, I have not stayed in a nicer place (actually for about 5x that ammount I have not stayed at a nicer place), huge room, fantastic service, infinity edge 6 foot by 5 foot bath tub with a view... Restaurants, a hotel with man made beach. Working conditions here are not wonderful, US engineering facilities are a quantum leap better, but the US facilities here are nice also, just the Chinese firms do it differently.
And no more massage girls following me home :)

BR,
Mike
