I've had very good experience with NGK - they are very good spark plugs. Do you have a link for the OEM SP's? I'd like to see what solid gold spark plugs look like. ;-) I'd really like to see and read about them - to try and understand how they can possibly charge $50 each for them. The NGKs at $100 for a set of 12 ($8.34 ea) is in the range of most premium spark plugs. Platinum plugs are often over $10 each.

I cannot think of any reason *not* to use the NGKs - unless there's something in the ignition system that requires special SPs. Back in the 60s and 70s when CD ignition systems were becoming popular, platinum tipped SPs were called for at roughly $12-$14 each. Usually to prevent backfiring.

Good luck -

Subject: [Ferrari] NFC: DB7 V12 Spark Plugs

A friend wanted to put aftermarket plugs in his '00 DB7 V12, specifically
these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SPARK-PLUGS-NGK-X12-ASTON-MARTIN-DB7-5-9-V12-PTR5D-13_W0QQitemZ390083138771QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item5ad2c454d3&_trksid=p4634.m351.l1262

What do you think? They are about 1/6th the OEM price....$100 instead of
$600.

thanks,

FG
