James,

I find after running a while you may want to park on a flat area and let the 
car cool then re-check. I use a paper cup cut a hole in it on the edge and poke 
the radiator bleed
screw through. That way as the car warms you can add coolant but when the bleed 
screw starts flowing it will not make a mess!! Do you have a bleed screw on 
your thermostat also?
