Laugh my ass off funny.  No, not the situation, Lash, but Paul's
response.

Honestly, I'd guess - and I don't know for certain - that
a.  They can't come after her parents.  I think that is a no brainer.
b.  If you shine it on, they can't touch you here in the U.S.
c.  If you do (b.) above, she could never return to Merry Old
England.

There is an attorney out west here named Jeannie Mucklestone.
She could get Michael Schumacher off of a speeding ticket in
a school zone.  You need to find Jeannie's counterpart in the U.K.
A few shillings to the right person can do wonders if you find the
right connections.  A powdered wig always helps.
