Honestly,

You offered what?  140k?  Give it 1 month, keep an eye on their 
inventory, go in and offer 135k (bring a check if you really think its 
necessary).  I think the actual sales prices on ebay are probably real, 
but also higher than the wholesale cLyDe speaks about. 

I'd certainly not go in again for a while, they can wait longer than you 
want to, but their counter was insulting, and if your offer was truly 
too low, they would have moved the car to  another dealer or sold it 
before now.

Also when you look at the next red F430 6-speed, try not to let them see 
you wiping the drool from the corner of your mouth, and definitely no 
dry humping the car until you get it home, your wife will understand.  
These tend to be poor negotiating tactics :)
