Yeah I know but i was referring to the idea of leaving a cheque and waling  
out the door and saying "call me if you want to cash it". In that case you 
don't  have a bill of sale. I like the idea but was wondering about the 
safety net.

When you're working with a dealer, a Sales Order is  filled out,
specifying the vehicle and all the terms.  There is  no
ambiguity, and both parties are protected  legally.
