It was a rainy day in Vancouver:

Traffic on the bridge was a bitch. Bob steered slowly through the milling 
crowds of indigenous, sporadically jerking aboriginals. They waved their 
feathered codpieces at him, while chanting inclusively in both French and 
English.

Now he was delayed by a Spirit Bear Puppet eating the entire Cayman Islands 
Winter Olympic Team. Sadly the Caymanians were just recovered from treading 
water for four days after a recent tropical hurricane submerged most of the 
Cayman Alps.

Bob knew his boss would be furious. He abandoned his car and ran into 
Stanley Park, ducking members of the Alberta Ballet dancing amongst a set of 
false Douglas Fir trees. The West End streets were clogged with crazed condo 
buyers and Newfie fiddlers wearing mohawks and flaming shoes; an apparent 
nod to the Shoe Bomber, who was detained and unable to attend the events of 
the day.

Still, Bob would have made it to work on time if it hadn’t been for that fat 
Slam Poet stuck in the office doorway…
