Ah you married very well then! Mine loves to drive the GTI, and was happy with both M3's, though she only really drove the first one, but both Vettes terrified her, she drove the Z06, but refuses to touch the C6, and she hated driving the 348 (too low, too stiff, too hard to steer, too noisy..., basically all the stuff I loved about it). So count your blessings. I got her to go to one DE at Texas World Speedway. She drove the speed limit all the way there, and about 20-30 mph above all the way home... But an R8? Even with the V10 its not really the poor man's Gallardo... I keep seeing that car (how many exotics end up in car commercials?), but I just can't love it. Its pretty, but its a homely pretty. For that money, and no plans to track it, the AM Vantage or a Mas GT is the better car I think, and for something track worthy, a 911 TT or GT3 would be scads better too. But that might be the draw, since most folks would go for the better choices available Audi probably has ready inventory? My $0.02...
