Hello,
Insead of a track at Austin, how about 2 hours run thru selected Texas Hill Country backroads? That might be more challenging than the "Ring".
Seriously are there standard specifications or requirements for an F1
track? Length? Number of turns? Etc.?
With land at a premium around Austin and water scarce, I imagine the startup cost must be great?
They aren't thinking about the College Station oval with inside roadcourse are they? Back in my WERA CRRC days I did that on a modified BW R90S M/C as well as the street races in Austin at the AquaFest and the little gokart/bike track at Hendersonville. In the late 1970s none of those events pulled much of a crowd
even though several world class riders and state of the art machinery was on the program.
Even though Austin is near Houston and Dallas, nothing does well there if
music, armadillos, cowboys and beer isn't involved.
Just my thoughts.
