>From my personal experience at looking at older cars, whether Ferrari, Mercedes, Porsche; once they reach a certain age, if they were cars that were produced in numbers, and 3x8s were, the difference between very good and really really excellent is not all that great. So while I would think for $40,000, there would be a lot of very good cars out there, for $10,000 more, I think you could get as I said, the best in the world. As for high mileage average cars, I have found, they often aren't worth owning. More often than not, they find their way into the hands of those who think they're getting a great deal on a car that usually goes for $40,000, when in fact they are buying a project that will end up costing more than the $50,000 best car in the world, but will still end up not being as good.
My personal advise to people who ask me, not that I'm an expert, is any "average" Ferrari, Porsche, or Mercedes is best avoided, unless it's something very special, and worth the investment of time, effort, and money. They made enough of all the 3x8 cars, that there are plenty of good ones out there. That would be my mindset if I was shopping for one.

EM and Larry T........?
And a serious question, if the best 89 328 GTS is worth 50k (or less), then what would a high mileage average condition 86 328 GTS be worth ........25K, 20K and if that is so then how about an average 308 GTSi ( 81/82)
I think I am losing my mind.......
Sleep, I need sleep
