Phil,
You probably are/did the list members a favour. As I said previously, there is always an element of passion when purchasing a Ferrari, that isn't factored into the bluebook value. If the going price is say $40,000, but an example tugs at your heart strings, parting with an extra $10,000 probably won't stop the buyer, or bring them many regrets in the long run.
I bought my 911, without any haggling, on the spot in 5 minutes. I knew the market, I could probably have got it for less, but I didn't care. I wanted that particular car for several years, and never thought it would become available. 21 years later, I have never regretted my decision to buy it on the spot, or the purchase price. Any premium I paid for it, has been returned a 1000 times over, every time I look at it, and drive it. :-)
While $50,000 is more than what I feel a lot of 328s are going for, at $50,000, I'm sure it will make someone very happy, for years to come. Maybe someone on this list. ;-)

I do not feel miss directed, in fact, you could be closer to right than I hope you are.....there are strange things going on in the car world right now....and I need to better under stand them....
I am confident that the 328 will get sold and the next owner will be happy.....but truly I felt that I was doing the list members a favor.
