When we lived in Hopewell, NJ (late 70's)
there was a 250 of some sort on one of the rural roads nearby which had
rec'd a American V8 at some point. It was for sale - $3K IIRC, but the
original V12 was MIA. It was probably snapped up in the 80's craziness and
restored and sold for a gazillion $$s - then resold in the 90s for a $ nickel
95.
BTW, the Japanese bought a large number of
exotics when the prices were crazy - I wonder if most have come back
home?
