Sort of an open letter. Stockbridge,
MA? Isn't that where Norman Rockwell spent his later years? Later
years painting and selling from his studio beside his house? My my.
Seems that if Norman were still around to paint Americana as the old Post
magazine and others would have us believe it to be - Ol' Jeff woulda been one of
the central characters. How things have changed. Maybe we can
transport a hundred or so rival genuine gang members from Los Angeles - ya
know, like the Crips or Bloods or 18th Street Gang back to the old neighborhood
- ya know, put the word "hood" back in neighborhood. See if they dare
reenact the Christmas Street Scene painting of 1957 (?). Bet the
grisly ol bunch of town folk would beg Jeff to have his "gang" back.
Eh? I dunno, I could be wrong.
