That sucks!  Now that you know response time for security company is slow, would it make sense to add a very loud local alarm?

Gentlemen I just experienced a break in at my house

Here is what I got from this

I have an alarm but the response time is too slow for the guys to get caught in a big city

Flat screen TV’s that are not secured will go

So will lap tops and jewelry that is left out and jewelry boxes

Here is what I would do and am doing in the future

Get a metal frame door for your all of your doors that have access to the street to include your bedroom and home office door that can be dead bolt locked

The door that they got thru was a wood door frame and it was kicked in

If you have an attached garage with motor cycles etc in it

Remover keys and lock the bike separately with the steering locks

That door should have a metal frame as well with a dead bolt lock and if you have window in the garage drill stop them as well with bolts

I was lucky that they were there maybe 5 minutes at the most and took very little in fact they missed a lot but the silent alarm was activated

They took a laptop that was password protected and has a tracking monitor on it, and if they get thru the password and log on they are toast!

They took my PS3 which really pissed me off but it was one of the original ones

And they took my big box computer which I play my flying games on it!

All in all it was a non event
