Wow

The macho-ness really notches up a bit on the list with Clyde's breakin story...  Its both funny and sad to see.

In reality...  I do not own anything that is worth my life, or the life of my wife or kids.  Nothing.  So why would I jeopardize that for any reason other than to defend those lives?  I have some things that can't be replaced, but the expensive stuff is all replaceable so big deal...

Theft happens and it truly sucks, its a violation of your cave really, but a sign of the times?  Possibly, but not something that is remotely new really.  We are entering a new economic era in this country, recovery to levels we previously saw is pretty unlikely to happen (MHO).  Maybe if thefts happen often enough to Clyde he should move somewhere with a lower crime rate?  Check for 348's.  I heard that if there are a lot of 348's parked on the street with the keys in them near your place...  You might be living in a ghetto...  Hope the thieves did not mistake the cheese graters of the 512tr for the 348 ones...

And Dale... Everyone knows Walker Texas Ranger would kick the crap out of Steve Segal :)

So true, Clyde. If you are thinking about a gun for home defense, then get trained and do recurrent training. So basic .

Ever had red mist on the track?

Dale as a purple heart owner bottom line is (and I say owner rather than winner because getting wounded doesn't make me feel like a winner)
Is that if you are not mentally prepared to die then go defensive and run an call for help
Each one of is has to make that call well before the time happens
I can speak from experience when I say that carrying a weapon and using it when you need too are too totally different things
Direct fire combat is a bitch and don't let anyone tell you different!
Being fully mentally prepared to engage the enemy is the key to a sucessful engagement regardless of the environment since most likely unless it is in your home you will have no chance to choose this as well!
Good Hunting!
