Hi Depends on the operating system and what
the password opens up. The guy who fixes computer problems for me
has a program that reveals passwords for a variety of different programs and log-ins.
However, it does not work for access to the computer itself. For example,
it will not reveal the password for a Windows XP profile. Indeed, the
Microsoft website will tell you that if you forget your profile password into
Windows XP, you are screwed. They basically say - sorry, we take security
seriously and unfortunately, if you have forgotten your password, you will have
to start from scratch, lose everything, reformat the hard drive and load
everything anew. Tough luck if you were not so diligent with backups and
have lost all your records, photos and so on. HOWEVER, THEY ARE WRONG (or maybe they are
just being somewhat disingenuous)! Whatever, my daughter was away in So, nothing is really 100% safe, I guess. Cheers, Grahame From:
