Red gets high marks.  Metallic black seems to lose the swooping lines of wind tunnel design.

 

Seen both colors.

 

Picture this - having seen the red one (at Ferrari of San Francisco in Mill Valley - just across the GG Bridge) a few weeks ago, I went back later as I wanted to see it again - it was gone.  Ho hum. and I was looking about at the few cars in their stable, and disappointed the 458 was gone, I came back to a rather low car and it was only THEN I that I saw it - the black 458.  What I'm saying is: 1) after looking about for 5 minutes I finally saw the black 458 which had been under my nose; or 2) I don't know what I'm looking at.  I'd opt for 2).

 

At first blush I had completely missed it.  I had been looking right at it and missed it.

 

Nope - you gots $300,000 and 2 years to wait - gotta be red.  Of course, if you get black you may be left alone when you go to McDonalds.
