Regretably I think we are seeing Nico vs Michael in a Spec Series. For that matter we are spec racing between team mates.

Rubens and Michael are a good example, we have seen them in the same car (Ferrari) and now Mercedes and Williams, If we did not know Michael was/is 7 time world camp and Mecedes (as Braun) won the Manufactures title last year, we would thik of them as roll chicanes. :-)

I'd like to see one or two (or a small series?) of races after the F1 season is officially over where all the F1 drivers participate in a spec series, just so we can see how good they really are as compared to the equipment they were driving during the season.  I mean, look at Michael vs Nico vs (fill in the appropriate blanks).  That would be exciting, I think.

If Bernie really wanted a show he would require all teams to meet 1957 specs for Monaco.  It would be much more exciting than the follow-the-leader race that is there right now...Rick

Hello,
The video of Fangio at Monaco in the Ferrari/Lancia was terrific!
           This was real F1!
            Drivers you could see work.
            Drum brakes.
            Driver shifting.
            No electronics.
            Skill, not tires more important.
If things went back to this spec, how many modern drivers would compete?
             Just my thoughts.
