I read that the original script called for Magnum to drive a Porsche 911, but Porsche didn't want to provide the cars or do a deal, so they went to Ferrari. I think Tom was the unofficial representative for bringing the 308 to the masses. Or maybe Ferrari helped bring Tom to the masses. :-) Has there ever been a car more associated with an actor? The Bond DB4/5, um, maybe?
