I had a blow out on FChat a few months ago for similar reasons. I got pissed that a bunch of know nothing blow hards were disparaging my client and mischaracterizing the - albeit criminal - actions that her husband had engaged in.It did not take long before a bunch of assholes that truly know nothing about the case or the details started crawling out of the woodwork - bashing my client's husband, her, and even me.I remain pissed that my "friends" on FChat failed to back me up - if for no other reason than my decade long tenure and never ending availability to fellow community members. The LEAST I expected was for people to take my back and at least vouch for my voracity. I went a few rounds with Rob Lay who was little more than defensive and at some points nasty. While I backed off forcing him to remove my profile, I have pretty much stopped posting (even when I am in a position to assist or advise) and only popped my head in once in the pas few months, to post a condolence message for a friend that recently passed. I have even given up reading FChat most days - and I used to check in constantly. Who needs to be involved with a community that is willing to turn their backs - or worse, attack you. As Tony said - so eloquently - they can all slurp my ass.Frankly, I don't give a hoot if Tony was running a scam - to turn the situation into a public lambasting on FChat is just plain wrong. Even if the "fraud" angle proves true, the underlying fact would be that poor Tony fucked up his car (which is supposed to have been really nice). For that alone, he needed commiseration, not personal attacks. Frankly, I am not tony's insurer and could care less if he commits insurance fraud. I do, however, lament the untimely death of any Ferrari.I take solace in the fact that I feel that the people here are really "friends" any number of which I believe I could depend on to come running to my rescue in a time of need - or who, at the least would meet me for a meal or a drink if I happened to be in their neighborhood. This is despite the fact that I have never personally met most of you and could probably not pick most members out of a line up of two.Scottie On Jan 19, 2011, at 3:49 PM, Jim Conforti wrote: On 1/19/2011 12:11 PM, Scott Saidel wrote:FWIW, I am with the "insurance scam" community.Very possibly a scam. However, the problem with the FChat community in general is that too many of the members are self-appointed.. "Team America - World Police" types. With a few of them misusing their official connections for such purposes. _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/ferrarisimo%40comcast.net Sponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/ _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/wade%40fortunemotors.com Sponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/
