OK Sitting here on a business trip reading these posts and I have to say they are the funniest things I have ever read. Trolling on net forums? Non-fact based opinions? "Friends" who suddenly aren't there? Blind accusations? Conspiracy theories? For those of you who are feeling any kind of emotional response about these interactions... I would like to say "Welcome to the Internet"... BR, Mike On 1/20/11 5:36 AM, Fellippe Galletta wrote:

I take solace in the fact that I feel that the people here are really "friends" any number of which I believe I could depend on to come running to my rescue in a time of need - or who, at the least would meet me for a meal or a drink if I happened to be in their neighborhood. This is despite the fact that I have never personally met most of you and could probably not pick most members out of a line up of two.

I share this sentiment and will always hold the f-list in a special light for being around before forums and being more authentic as well.
The problem with forums is it's too damn anonymous.....anonymity is fine but very annoying when people abuse it and treat others like s*** and have the faux tough guy exterior. Every single forum is like this to some extent.... I have yet to be proven wrong in this regard.
There are some good guys on the forums, but far less percentage wise than you would hope for.
Another benefit of the F list email format is that it definitely weeds out the superficial crowd to some extent....you agree to receive emails from all members, not choose your "threads". While not a big deal now, it used to be quite a headache 10 years ago when you came back from vacation!
Nice place to be with genuine friendships based on a love of cars and other nice
things, and not brown-nosing and d*** measuring contests.
