They simply said that HAVE (?????) to use UPS when shipping to another country. Stupid reason because I'm sure they lose customers because of that. If I didn't have a friend in Boston, I would have said no thank you.
As for the price at my local dealership, I didn't even bother to ask. Maybe I should have.

As many of you know I have worked in this parts industry for a little while. These gaskets are available direct from any Ferrari dealer in the US, with a list price of $13.35 each. Although many dealers would want to sell these for more than list, there are a number of dealers who will happily sell anything for list price.

Some may remember I originally posted that I could get them for 10 and change, and indeed Rutlands list them for a similar price. They, like me, source these direct from the manufacturer in Italy. Unfortunately the manufacturer is out of stock and seems to be taking their time in making more. Not an unusual situation in the world of Ferrari parts unfortunately.

As for shipping to Canada, I am at a loss as to why they weren?t sent USPS Priority in a small flat rate box. $11.95 door to door. http://ircalc.usps.gov/MailServices.aspx?country=10054&m=13&p=0&o=1&mt=13 It would be less if they were just posted regular first class.

Hope this provides a little insight into this weird and often confusing world?

Dave

$16.30 each plus $6.50 for shipping to my friend's house in Boston and another $7.00 (or just about) for him to ship them to me in Canada. They were asking me $46 or $56 for shipping by UPS. Unbelievable!

Good idea, I'll keep the old ones.

I've used car inner tube rubber as the gasket material and cut out the template gasket with an exacto knife before. It might not work for every situation, but It should work for tail lights.

Hello

Could some sort of liquid gasket or liquid rubber be used to form a gasket?

Not original but maybe functional? Or cutting a gasket from sheets of gasket material?

         Just my thoughts
