To me lay down rubber is what a tire is supposed to do.
Shedding is what Pirelli is doing with their F1 compounds.
The only rubber layed down was by the tires of the SUPPORT races.
The FIA wanted tires that wore out and that is what the Pirelli's are
doing.
I think that if the tires were laying down rubber at the same rate they are
shredding the racing line woud be undrivable because the compunds don't have a
stick factor. Don't believe me, how many time have we seen cars make tire to
tire contact in the past and be launched.
There was one contact in Turkey that with last years tires
it would have happened and the tire did not even get cut
by the wing end that was broke off.
