Trying to
remember the details of your last post on this. If all you need is
the round plate, then just measure its diameter and find one in a
junkyard that is the same diameter. It's just a round plate of
aluminum, nothing tricky about it. It bolts onto the arm.
Swap it out, being sure to center the new plate and check its height at
rest - I assume your mechanic knows those procedures. Early VWs had
60mm plates, later models 80mm. I think I've heard someone mention
units with 110mm plates, not sure though.
The number
on the plaque is for the entire air flow sensor unit. I checked all
the VW numbers that I have, none match up. Likely because the air
flow sensor unit typically bolts up to the intake/air filter system and
is thus unique to each model. Also the shape of the
"cone" that the plate sits in is different for different
engines. Different cone shapes alter the fuel delivery
curve.

1981 308 GTSi: O.k. The search for my air-flow metering blade (just under the air filter, TAV 12 #115329, continues.
I checked the number on the plaque yesterday, it's Bosch 0-438-120-126.
I googled it yesterday and was unable to get anywhere. Half the time I was sent to Bosch appliances sites. No kidding.
Does anybody have a Mercedes or Porsche or Volkswagen parts manual ? Can you check which of these has the same Bosch air-flow metering part with the year too ? If I know that, I'll be able to go to a junkyard around Montreal and find one.
