Read?  Yes, I can read "the Maranello" but no, I cannot resist the opportunity to selfishly share in my modesty privilege, to share the track with the third ever GTO and luxuriate in the sound from whence sound itself is born!

ps.  Much as I love all kinds of engine noises or even the scream of a tire holding a race car at the limit, while I prefer the sound of an air-cooled variety, one does tend to glance over the fence and duly admire the green grass. : )

The sound on the Vanquish is actually nicer than the Maranello if you can believe that. More aggressive...

Having just spent a day on the track where a gentleman attended with his 599 GTO, I can only counsel you to seek medical attention -- either your ears or your mind have failed you, sir.

(in jest)

Perhaps another case of misreading what was written...

Here Maranello means 550/575 Maranello, not a blanket term for Ferrari!!

As one of the bigger audio egos on the F-list (engine sounds and audio systems), my verdict is:

Vanquish vs. 550/575 Maranello: Vanquish
599 GTO vs. 99% cars on earth: 599 GTO

That 99% includes most Ferraris and Lamborghinis that you wouldn't think would sound less violent than a GTO but do!

Happy? :)
