Hey Fellippe,
Unfortunately people get something in their heads and it
wonât leave. That 27.5 stuck in her head and to compound the problem, her
âfriendâ told her 32 â no way of knowing the friends knowledge base.
On top of that you have a woman who has lost her life
time partner â possibly someone who took care of all of the âmanlyâ things
in their lives â paying bills, home and vehicle maintenance â so she feels lost
and overwhelmed. Actually, many woman who lose their long time husbands
will buy a car about 1 year after the husband passes - without any help from
family. My mom did it, MIL and others we know also â I guess they want to
know they can do something by themselves. They usually get taken advantage
of â I know my mom did at the Oldsmobile dealer â and we only heard about it
after the fact. But she was always very proud of herself for going to the
dealer, picking out what she wanted and buying it â all by herself. Like a
rite of passage perhaps.
Anyway â your Ferrari lady was being told things by all
manner of people â some not having her best interest at heart. Then you
come along and all she hears is all the money youâll make â $1k isnât much for
the work youâll have to do but she may not have any basis to know what is
reasonable. I find it amazing that she sold the car for a large loss and
evidently refused to contact you to see if your higher offer was still
available. She really fixated on you as being a bad guy it seems,
when all you did was try to help!
But itâs over now and hopefully she wonât continue to
bad-mouth you.
![]() Take care --

Sorry to hear....no good deed goes unpunished. FG
