1. This a rebuttal to Mike Sheehan's attack of my being new to the business, so obviously I am wrong.

2. Make people aware of the secret business behind high end ferrari brokers, that in fact most wealthy people do not want to made aware of the fact that they have been cheated. This attitude allows dishonest brokers to feed on the very people believing in the principals of Enzo Ferrari and the Ferrari Marque. Mike S. has a history going back many years of taking wealthy people for their money and sneaking off to do it again. The fact is he is caught time after time, taken to court and made to pay back what he owes. He owes a group of 6 brokers for the work they did in securing the car. InternetInformation System at work. This is still a free country, dishonest people still go to jail. If I had not brought this up, no one would be wiser to Mike S. True or not?

Notice in the picture, this is not Mike S, but Donald S. I am only reporting the facts. Something I learned while earning my Masters Degree in Economics.

 

Here is the result ..,.

LOS ANGELES. -- Former top Ferrari broker Michael Sheehan never thought he would find himself in the kind of legal troubles he is in today.

The man who peddled the most expensive vintage Ferrari ever sold -- a classic GTO at $13.75 million -- placed his Costa Mesa company, European Auto Sales and Restoration Inc., into bankruptcy last March.

Meanwhile, two civil fraud lawsuits against him are pending, and he has yet to settle another one.

Sheehan's legal troubles began after global Ferrari prices surged in the late 1980s, then crashed in the early 1990s.

After the market collapse, several wealthy ear collectors claimed heavy financial damages; they alleged they had been cheated.

Criminal complaints were filed, and Sheehan's house was raided by police in the course of the investigation.

Sheehan, 47, denies the allegations. "It was totally unethical," he said. "It was totally immoral. They lied, they lied."

One case involved Japanese millionaire Yoshikuni Okamoto, who in 1990 paid Sheehan $320,000 for a 1962 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta. Three years later, Okamoto filed a civil fraud suit, claiming he spent $170,000 for European Auto to restore the car, with little result. As he waited, the car's market value fell until it bottomed at less than what he had paid for it.

In 1995, restaurateur Yoji Oyama filed a similar complaint against European Auto. Oyama said he paid $375,000 for a 1950 Ferrari roadster and nearly $200,000 more for restoration. But after six years, the company had not completed the job.

Then Hong Kong collector Michael Mak sued, alleging he paid Sheehan $582,000 for a 1965 Ford GT40 race car, but instead received a replica built from the scraps of the original.

Okamoto won a settlement last August for less than half his attorney's fees. The other cases are pending.

And other legal issues remain, including a claim by European Auto's bankruptcy court trustee that Sheehan laundered funds before the bankruptcy, an allegation Sheehan denies. But he has been cleared of any criminal fraud charges.

"If I could do it all over again I would do it differently," Sheehan said.

"Because what I've been through has been emotionally, financially, devastating."

Because any buyer would want Ferrari Classiche verification on any high-end Enzo-era Ferrari, I hired and paid John

 

Amette of Ferrari Classiche to inspect 250 SWB s/n 2639 GT.

 

 

 

I bought the tickets for John Amette and for me, I flew with John Amette to Indianapolis for the inspection, I took my

 

own photos, John Amette took his own photos for Ferrari Classiche and I paid the Classiche fees for the Classiche report.

 

 

 

A month later, when I had a positive report on 250 SWB s/n 2639 GT from Ferrari Classiche I sold to the car to our buyer.

 

 

 

I then flew back to Indianapolis for a second inspection, met with the buyer and his mechanic and conclude the sale.

 

 

 

Douglas Le Grand, like many dozens of other brokers who attempted to flog this car, contributed absolutely zero to this sale.

 

 

 

Attached are a few of the photos I took with John Amette of Ferrari Classiche as he inspected 250 SWB s/n 2639 GT at John

 

Hajduk’s shop in Indanapolis.

 

 

 

While in Indianapolis I had lunch with John Hajduk and specifically asked John Hajduk if Douglas Le Grand and a list of

 

others wanta-be brokers had anything whatsoever to do with the acquisition or sale of 250 SWB s/n 2639 GT.

 

 

 

As per John Hajduk, Douglas Le Grand was just another wanta-be broker (of many dozens) who called him about the car.

 

 

 

As for Douglas Le Grand’s ranting’s that the engine is incorrect or that the car sold for $4m USD, Douglas Le Grand is, at

 

best, ill-informed and delusional.

 

 

 

To repeat, Douglas Le Grand\contributed absolutely zero to this sale.

 

 

 

Douglas Le Grand’s ranting’s are both slanderous and massively incorrect in their allegations.

There has been new information on Chassis# 2639, making the broker scam small potatoes to anyone serious about Ferrari, and its marque. This car was reportedly sold for $4.1 million to a trusting person believing the car was authentic, matching number 250GT SWB Berlinetti, when in fact the engine is an overstamp repro. I would like to speak with the person who bought this car, Chassis #2639, Please contact me. The seller (Broker) not the owner, of this car has a long list of corruption/ fraud/decept of High End Rare Vintage Ferrari's in Orange County CA.. Do we regulate ourselves or just let the buyer beware. I think not.

If the car passed a Classiche inspection (which I thought the cars had

to physically go back to Ferrari, or to a dealer where a Classiche

employee could fly in and view it), then how is what you've just sent

possible?  Even if it is as re-stamp, if it passes Classiche as correct

for the car then it's correct ...

Re-stamp?  Hmmmm - please unveil the "re-stamp" authorization steps to us

hoi-poli.  Is it one of the following or another story all together?



* Car is missing the correct block and Ferrari casts up a new one,

stamps correct # for the VIN and now the car has an engine? or



* Car has THE correct engine # for the VIN but it is a boat anchor.

Ferrari melts old engine down and recasts and re-stamps? or



* Car has correct family motor BUT incorrect serial number for the

VIN.  Ferrari looks it over and agrees it is THE motor which comes from the

correct family motor for the VIN and re-stamps (over-stamps) the engine # to

make nice nice with the VIN and transaxle et all.  Thereby leaving the door

open that the REAL engine is out there running washing machines, wind mills,

a coffee table or in another car all together (like Tony Nancy's 32 Ford)?



Some time ago I saw frame C001 which to me looked like C003 over stamp.

Tell me it ain't so Joe.

to the mint and re-struck as an MS 65, well, that would seem quite bazaar.



Where does Classich stop?  They do the motor - do they do a frame?  A trans

axel?  Sheeeet man, gimmie a brand new Barcetta, well, for a George Soros

pay check.  But service with a smile.
