Well said, Scottie!

My first track event ever was at the little Talladega track in Alabama (not the super speedway). Fun track but small and therefore brake intensive, and my TR boiled the brake fluid several times through the weekend.

Shortly thereafter I had the F40 brake kit installed on the car, along with larger wheels to accommodate it. That solved the cooling problem easily, but now, without ABS, you have to be extremely careful with panic stopping the car. The brakes will always lock up the front wheels if applied hard. The solution is to brake a little bit, wait for the weight of the car to transfer forward, and then give the car full braking power, in which case it's a huge improvement. Easy to do on the track - much harder in a panic stop on public roads as Scottie described for the Lambo. I was a few inches from sliding the car up under a pickup near my house last weekend in just that kind of case (not uncommon for SC cars to have no brake lights since we have no inspections required at all).

I had considered putting in an adjustable bias proportioning valve but never got around to it. I think that would help to shift some bias backward under the new setup and make the front engagement a little more progressive.

I guess my point is: on the track - even when driving competitively - it is possible to adjust your skills to the equipment (although I readily admit to the "red mist" clouding my judgement more than occasionally resulting in an excursion or shunt).  On the street, where idiots and unpredictability abound - there is nothing better then a nice set of big cross drilled disks with ABS.
