I've got a number of friends with 348s and haven't heard of any of them breaking down within the last ten yrs or so...that's about as far back as my memory works.

They are indeed great cars. The sticky door handles are solved by powder coating them which costs about $15 around here.

Yeah

I have to agree with Deep here...  It was a great driving car, and I did track mine (9000 miles worth)...  It never left me stranded, engine was rock solid.  Only problem I had was the clutch and TO bearing and that was likely due to my learning to heel and toe in her more than the car's fault...

And if you dialed in the rear and front suspension you could do anything with that car through a turn, I never swapped ends in that car ever, and it went into a turn more aggressively than most cars I have driven, you just had to drive it hard right before turn in :)

So yeah clyde hates em... but whatever...  I had fun with mine, drove it like I stole it, and got the same parking spaces clyde brags about getting in his TR...  For half the price...

I thought my 348 was great.

The styling was very Ferrari and very proportioned. The interior was also quite good. The targa top came off easily and stowed behind the seats.

The engine felt like it had more torque than the 355 and I liked the lack of power steering. The brakes were among the best I'd ever experience in a road car...awesome pedal feel and modulation.

Handling was also fantastic.  Although I never tracked it, some of our local road rallies can get nutty and it never skipped a beat. You can't trail brake it as the rear will come out easily, but it's so easy to control unlike many mid or rear engined cars.

I drove mine on a 1300 mile road trip to Montreal and it performed perfectly.

As long as it has been sorted out like this one was, I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Everyone who has owned a 348 has let it go like a bad relationship!
Nothing long term unless you wanted it too!

Am I right?
