Slantnose 911 turbos are still around - I actually have an 86 slant nose coupe for sale right now.  They are just rare (if they are factory slant nose cars), and a lot of the models with crappy fiberglass conversions have been returned to OEM form.  Some people like the slant nose look, and some people think it's gaudy 80's excess styling, same as with the Testarossa and Countach.  I think the slant nose cabriolets still look good, but I'm not a huge fan of the styling overall.  In my mind the TR is still a fabulous looking car, as is the Countach - as long as you don't have to drive the Lambo.

The 911 Speedsters are I believe what you are referring to.  They are still around - Porsche made 356 Speedsters from 1954 - 1959, and 911 Speedsters officially in 1989, 1994, and 2011.  However, there were a couple of 1995 Speedsters built for Jerry Seinfeld and Ferdinand Porsche.  356 Speedsters have always held value very well, and in recent years 1989 Speedsters have vaulted in value, with low mileage examples commanding well over new MSRP.  1994's never were as popular but have also risen in value.  The 2011's were built only in blue or white and were limited to a production run of 356.  Some went for well over MSRP when new, but I have seen a couple of unsold examples on the market.  Great cars to drive.

Just personal experience.  Not saying they are the best cars Ferrari has ever made.  Just saying mine was no problem whatsoever.  Parts prices back then (1998-99) were ridiculous though.  Esp the sh*tty plastic water pumps.
