MUCH cheaper to restore, and after you're done, you can actually drive/enjoy your efforts without wetting your pants when a raincloud appears overhead. I can think of worse things to throw money at....restoring Porsches, for instance.
How many Ferrari designs were penned by Bertone?
Think Scaglietti stock went up this week?
