Dang – “. . . any good reason. . .”

Well –

1) it might unbalance the car a bit at speeds lower than 100 mph.  You wont know until you need to make a sharp maneuver and you ain’t gots so steering response as sharp as the car is designed to do.

2) that spoiler may act as some sort of creator of a low pressure area that other components count on – like air conditioner condensers.  Witness the “sucker” radiator arrangements GM made for their Corvettes, Camero’s and Trans Am’s.

When I was at Bobileff’s a hundred years ago – I saw an after market gizmo on worked into the under carriage of a car on the rack resembling half a skate board on each front corner.  Invisible except when the car was raised.  Coulda been a Lambo.

Yeah, low long front noses – even our little 308 GTS scrapes now and then and when I hear that – that’s flat fiberglass undercarriage and that’s a hole.  %&*$&^%*^

Subject: [Ferrari] Need 512TR Spoiler?

After too many encounters with low clearances for my car, I had to remove the black front plastic spoiler on my 512TR this morning after returning from its weekly "exercise."  I suppose I could resecure it (after bonding the approximately two inch long piece that tore off as I pulled into my garage), but -- not to diminish the importance of aesthetics (at least for those who like the appearance of a black spoiler on an otherwise red car -- I find it a bit discordant), and preserving original condition -- I find it difficult to believe it serves any significant function, at least at speeds not much in excess of 100 MPH.  So any good reason why I should repair/reinstall or replace it?

Thanks,
Larry
