Yes, that is the same place. And I agree Great people, Great food, and Great times were had by all. On a sad note Umberto died several years ago but his daughter still runs the place and it is still my second most favorite place to eat in the world! I wouldn't miss the sea bass for anything, I compare all other restaurants' sea bass or fish entree to Umberto's still to this day.

I was on a strict budget and only ordered a side salad.  When the bill was split equally, I walked out paying well over $100 for my water and side salad.  I had to cover Matt Boyd (who squared up shortly after) too because he had his young son with him and to leave early to get him to bed.  Was a fun night though. You always have great yarns to spin.
