Hi Lester,

Welcome! This is an old list (the oldest Ferrari list actually), dating back
to 1994! I joined in 1996 and met List owner Steve Cook the following year.
He did a physics degree at New Mexico Tech, where my son did his physics
degree. Many of us have been here a looong time.

This list is an interesting collection of friends. And friends we are,
independent of how much we might fuss and disagree. :-P One might say that
we're a club that evolves with time. And to mix my metaphors; its the same
clowns, just a changing circus.

To the rest of the list,

Lester is a friend, living not too far from me here on the south coast, and the
new owner of an 88-1/2 328GTS. He bought Robert's car. I've driven that car,
as a number of you have, and we all know that its a good one! Lester will
enjoy it. Its slightly overdue for a minor service right now, but Lester is
seeing to that service.

I now have the '85 testarossa back on the road. I stood in line at the
courthouse for 1-1/2 hours last Friday to get the car registered. That time
spent and a sizable tax check, and the car is registered, has plates and is in
my name. Many of you may remember that this car is the one owned alternatingly
by Rainbolt and Lashdeep. I bought it partially disassembled after both of
those guys grew tired of putzing with it (through no fault of their own). The
car is running fine now with a fully rebuilt fuel injection. When I first got
the car, and after I got the FI rebuilt, a number of electrical issues were
present but they have since cleared themselves! Sticky relays, I presume.
Everything is working now with no intervention from me! This weekend I'll
install a new A/C belt and get the system charged. That should put the inside
of the car as cool as the outside looks. :-)

I still have my 308GTB and the four Weber carb rebuild kits are still sitting
on the workbench. Now that the TR is back running, I can move my mechanical
attention on to the 308. Rui's coming to visit in a few weeks. Perhaps we'll
attack it together...

I am also storing and exercising Ed Helsing's Mondial QV. That's the car I
bought from Matt, sold to Dave, bought back from Dave, and sold to Ed. Ed is
on a TFA to Jakarta for another 1-1/2 years. He drives the car when he returns
home to Texas, then hands it back to me when he leaves. Not a bad deal, since
he pays for the storage! And Matt, I must admit, that Mondial is still the
smoothest, most trouble free Ferrari I have ever driven!

A few of us have been talking about a 2013 EuroHallett Redux. Its been 14
years since we were last at the Factory, as a group. I'd say we're overdue!
Our plans are to attend the Boavista Historic F1 event in Porto, Portugal, then
go on to Maranello. Hummm... Time for another List event?

With best regards and another 'WELCOME' to Lester,

-rick
