A giant vacuum cleaner - - - that’s a good one LS.

Last time I heard that raucous sound of silence was in 1969 filming the Rex Mays USAC Indy car race at Riverside International Raceway – as the two Day-Glo red Lotus STP turbines would whoooosh by.  Their last hurrah.

I have a wooden bread cutting board from Little Joe’s Italian restaurant in Los Angeles China town (where else now, really?) I wrangled to have Andy Granatelli and Mario Andretti sign at a congratulations luncheon for Mario’s 1969 Indy win.  Andy signed my cutting board – “Best Whooooshes – Andy.”  Thus endeth the Turbine invasion.

 Speaking of exhausts...

I've had the pleasure of seeing and hearing an Aventador run in three different locations since the middle of August.

First in Monterey, the next two times (shockingly and understandably) in the DC area.

The car was sooooo quiet at idle. Once revved, the car sounded like a giant vacuum cleaner. It will be interesting to see what the aftermarket can do to change that.

All in all, the car is pretty awesome!
