I'll do ya one better Doug,  Picture *THIS* - newly acquired 308 in need of cam belts and other servicing.  While working under the cam covers (front bank, natch), putting a cam cap back in place, when "-Plink-" goes the washer down into an oil passageway.  Well, CRAP!!  What now??  Sprayed about an entire can of brake-cleaner down that passageway, then dropped the oil pan.  There, on top of one of the horizontal "baffles", lay the washer as if to say "Here I am!"  Whew!!!

Never worked there again without stuffing all those holes with paper towels!
