Earlier this year, my cable provider moved SPEED off of basic cable and into the premium realm. I pay for one DVR and get the HD premium channels, but my other TV (in the bedroom) is just getting the basic cable and has a Tivo connected to it. After this happened, my Tivo stopped recording anything on SPEED, so my viewing habits had to change. Lots of what I used to watch on SPEED just went away, or I had to fight for space on the family DVR between hundreds of House and NCIS reruns.
I'm pretty sure that NBC Sports is not part of my basic cable plan. This greed for more money by the cable providers and networks and ultimately the sports franchises (including F1) is going to reduce their audience. I'm already paying $185 a month on cable, internet and phone. I'm getting ready to ditch the home phone, but that is the smallest part of the bill. The family won't let me ditch TV completely, and frankly I would miss watching my racing and football. My TV watching time has gone down to next to nothing in the past several years. I spend my free time in the garage working on my projects.

Hello old Friends,
With Bernie-Vision switching from SpeedTV to NBC (or NBC Sports) for 2013, I fear my following of F1 may come to a close (after 15 years of religious following). The issue here is not anything against NBC, other than the four big networks' propensity for hate-TV (Vote the bastard off!!!, Cheat on your Wife and WWF). The issue is that I live in south Texas, and Sunday morning TV in Texas is church. If F1 is shown at all on the NBC affiliate, it will be delayed broadcast - unless it interferes with football. Now if we're talking about some NBC Sports network, I probably won't get it at all as I have no sports channels on my TV service.
Forgive the rant, please. This is just another Bernie-induced cock-up. Bringing F1 back to America is not for Americans. Its for the advertising of American brands in Europe and Asia. After all, who watches F1 in America? The FerrariLIST, FerrariCHAT and three guys who moved here from Germany.
