Hi Lashdeep,

I have done exactly this on my 328gt4.  A local guy (in Sydney) was upgrading the brakes on his 360 to carbon brakes from a 430 Scud. So I bought his old 360 Brembo front calipers for $400. I have aftermarket Simmons 16” rims and after careful measuring, we found that there was just enough clearance behind those wheels to fit 320mm diameter x 32 mm, 2-piece, floating, vented cross-cut discs on custom billet aluminium bells and mounts, which we anodised.  The disks themselves were from a local Australian manufacturer so price was good and replacement supply will be easy in the future.  The mounting to clear the rims means that the disks are ever so slightly more inboard than stock disks, but this can’t be bad for unsprung weight!  Also, the stock front brakes are only 267mm x 25mm thick and all solid, so there was a considerable increase in swept area, weight, cooling, etcetera. Incidentally, I did not need to do anything to the master cylinder and the pedal feels great and normal. For the back brakes, I simply switched to a more aggressive pad and I have good front/rear balance. OK, so how do they work? The acid test was track day recently - once I gained confidence in how good these are, I found that I could go deeper approaching corners before hitting the anchors. I found that I could out-brake a number of cars going into corners that previously I had not been able to do. Overtaking under brakes is such fun! So I’d say it was a successful and quite cost-effective upgrade.

Cheers,

Grahame

What's the latest on 308 brake upgrades?

I have a buddy locally that has mounted 360 calipers onto his car with custom brackets...feel great and pretty inexpensive.

Anything else for less than $90k in parts?
