I thought it funny that the Tools at Car-n-Driver kissed a wall with the 599 press-car because they turned OFF the traction control to get some side-ways drift photos for the magazine and the car's power overcame their 'press-corps' driving abilities. I told you that these cars were FAR exceeding their buyer's ability to control them, hence the loss of 'soul' with the rise of electronic 'assistance'....paging Eddie Griffin!
Its a stretch to call the Enzo a flop - they enthusiastically sold-out the entire line, didn't they? It was King-of-the-Hill, performance-wise when it debuted. The 599 GTO was a joke - cool exhaust, minor body-kit tweaks, and a small performance bump? Please. The GTO should have been a borderline race/street car, like the all-carbon Glickenhaus machine.
Of all the supercars 'out there', I'd want the F-50. Normal aspiration, F1 engine, manual transmission, removable roof, and a loud exhaust that spits fire. Styling? Ain't nobody confusing the F-50 with the new Mustang, are they? Perfect!

Isn't that a good thing? The problem is certain people have bad judgment but you cannot realistically protect every person from themselves.
I propose that the driver aids lend a sense of false confidence/security and you end up with worse accidents and more stupid behavior than before. Like football in the leather helmet days....there was no helmet to helmet missile concussions then like there are now.
Huh?
Keeping up with the P1 and 918. It is what it is -- Ferrari has to market to people who buy on specs and "technology".
I'd do anything to see a modern F40, but I know that will never happen.
F50 I've heard good things. Problem is the car is a ton of money for not a ridiculous amount of power, but driving feel is supposed to be outstanding .
Agree with Enzo. 599 too except the GTO. The rest of the lineup isn't destined to be legendary Ferraris but that's ok I guess.
Still waiting for a true TR replacement after all these years. 550 ain't it.
An interesting thing has happened since the 360 came out -- superior technical ferraris with less inspired "souls". The Gallardo came out and Ferrari could no longer sell 200 hp entry level cars any longer. Engines really ramped up in power, and handling/aero tech went through the roof. The fanboys got their bragging rights but the cars were more sterile.
A case of performance and feel being mutually exclusive? Don't think so but it's been that way for some time now.
You sure about that? I'm hearing the opposite quite frankly. Who doesn't have a GTR these days is the question. I'm not suggesting these cars are selling over MSRP, but they are pretty popular for what you can do to them in the aftermarket.
