Re: 512M body kit

I have to admit, I was looking at the 512 and my thoughts were bouncing between the 512 and the F40 in a pretty confused jumble of ideas.  I'd enjoy having an "unmolested" 512 even though I've never been a fan of that era of "striations" on the flanks fo the 512 or 355.  My obstacle to both cars was not money at the time (money was raining down on Silicon Valley as if we were in a perennial monsoon season) it was fitting into the driving position of either car.  When I was quoted $25K to put a custom seat in an F40, circa 2000, I was dumb enough to consider doing it!  Sadly, I wasn't dumb enough to go ahead and buy the car.  It would be only six months later I realized I had looked the most perfect stable of turbocharged gift horses in the mouth.  I rue the day.

Adam,

They did that to a 512M, not an F40. What I have to say about it is that it makes me wish I could do a full resto on my 308. I spent about 6 hours yesterday doing the wash, clay, polish, wax, and it looks pretty good, but whatever you think of that 512M the paint looks gorgeous.

The F40 is a whole entity, not something to be touched up.
In any case, this "kit" is awful.  It makes the car look like a replica of the real thing.
If there was anything I'd do to the F40, at least in the US market, it would be to remove the idiot seat belts and put in some real belts.
