The cold air is chilling the glass below the dew point, causing
moisture to condense on it. Same thing happens to a ice cold soda can
sitting out in hot, humid weather.
Could you try physically blocking the flow of air out of those vents to keep all cold air from hitting the glass and chilling it?
Temporarily, just use masking tape to cover them. If that works, look for a more aesthetically pleasing solution. Todd Seattle,WA '86 GTI, Red of course.
