How did you manage to rub-elbows with a British Lord? Gotta be an interesting story there....

Sort of - the technical classification was 1965 904/6 Carrera GTS (they used the name rather than the number, because they were in a legal dispute with Peugeot at the time)
In any case, this car represents a continuation of the 904 body, but was one of the first made available with the Porsche model 901 2 litre flat 6 engines.
link for the whole store and rather complete provenance.:

Aside from the James Bond Lotus Submarine - the "stars" of the auction are expected to be my friend Irvine's racing cars.
He is getting rid of his Porsche 904/6, 275 GTB/C, Maserati 250S, Jag D-Type, Maserati 61 "Birdcage", Chevron B16, and Chevron B19.
His wife, turning 70, and a pretty nasty crash in his other 904/6 -- that put him in and out of the hospital for over a year and a half -- led him to decide to shelve his gentleman racing career (Which includes four spots [three seconds and one third] on the Grand Prix Historique De Monaco leader board.)
Even cLyDe would love this guy. He has had (and still has) some of the worlds most amazing cars, and drives the tires off of them. He would have had his elusive 1st at Monaco, but hit the wall in front of his apartment in his ex-Count Trossi Maserati 6CM. Less than a year later, he and the car were back at it, but never with as much success.
Hope for high prices! The Merccedes collection has gone mostly below estimate today, hopefully tomorrow is a better day.
