Wrong.... For example I bought my 88 Spur with 103k miles and sold it with 170k miles... no engine issues. Had my 91 Turbo R for two years... Bought with 100k miles and just sold with about 115k miles. Other issues with hydraulics and ECU's but never an engine problem....

Nobody, I mean NOBODY buys a RR to show-off the engine unless its a new one to show potential buyers how the Germans vastly improved things......If there was actually a market-value to a RR with an orignal engine, they'd probably get to keep them - since there isn't, and the desire is to get one running without donating both kidneys to the Queen of England, then ya gotta do what ya gotta do.I can't tell you the last time I've seen a pre-2000s RR actually, um, 'run' on the highway....and this state has a dealership with factory-trained mechanics. But hey, everyone needs an expensive hobby, right?M JFrom: "Britt2Asa [at] aol.com" <Britt2Asa [at] aol.com>

Thats the same thinking that saw so many 60's and 70's Ferraris end up with a chevy V8. It was designed for a certain engine and engineered for that engine, so keep the engine. There was nothing wrong with the original engineering and NOTHING classy about a Ford V8 in an old Roller....BR in the UK1986 328GTS (LHD 89,940km) Died August 19, 2006 Shrewsbury UK 1980 400i (RHD 74,000 miles)

It would be cheaper, I think, to drop a high-HP Ford drivetrain in there, and now you have classy AND reliable wheels. From: Erik Nielsen <judge4re [at] gmail.com>

I looked at Hagerty's website, but it wasn't clear on the discount for a RHD car. Most guide books I had around the house said -25% or -30%. To Clyde's point, this one may just be used as yard art to mess with the HOA and my snooty neighbor with the Tesla...

There's a good valuation tool (IMO) at the Hagerty insurance Co (http://www.hagerty.com/) -- it has a average value for your car as $11K but it can be more/less depending on condition. But it might give a starting point.

Probably a 4+/3- car, been repainted, no rust, smokes a bit on start up, needs a bit of woodwork and leather work. RHD.I'm thinking ~$4-6k, am I off base? Thanks,Erik
